Did you know? Spiderman was created by writer and editor Stan Lee and artist and co-plotter Steve Ditko. Spiderman first appeared in an issue called Amazing Fantasy #15 in the August of 1962. Lee and Ditko saw the character as an orphan being raised by his Aunty May and Uncle Ben. They gave him super strength and agility, the ability to cling to almost all surfaces, the skill to shoot spiderwebs using devices of his own invention which he called webshooters, and they made him able to react to danger quickly with his spidersense.
